For the last week there has been updates on Nicole Kidman's wedding in just about every single news bulletin on TV and radio and the newspaper. Jeez, today there was photos on page one and page 3 of the NZ Herald.

The have interviewed her mother, her neighbors, the security guys and even the couple that got married in the same church the day before their wedding.

We got to see how nice Nicole is when she sent out a dozen beer to the paps camped out at her front gate. That of course got the TV media interviewing the print media.

Somehow the media thinks we give a crap about this stuff! In my most formal surveying to date, I couldn't find a single person that could give a flying fig about the wedding of some Australian actor to some no name country singer.

In somewhat related news, while walking out to my car this arvo to get the map book to locate Virginia Ave in the city I was composing this post in my head and managed to fall down the back steps at the office. First I almost passed out from the pain, then started sweating when I thought I was going to throw up from the pain and then start to shiver with cold. All the time worrying that I'd damaged a perfectly good pair of strides. Then I had to get back into the office to call Gabba to come get me for another X-Ray.

It seems I've damaged some ligament in my left foot that apparently is quite useful for walking and wiggling toes and stuff. It also bloody well hurts. I blame me thinking about Nicole Bloody Kidman and not concentrating while I descended the steps. I reckon she owes me some beer too.

Make it Heineken darling ;-)

The Photo

It's a bit of flotsam on Whatipu Beach from my Saturday trip out there. I've written about shoes and accidents before. I'm picking this guy drowned and his shoe came off. I couldn't find the other one.

  • jesus Dave! How many injuries have you had on those stairs. Didn't you almost lose a finger on those stairs? What drugs did they give you?

  • Yes, had a good go at damaging a finger. Stuill got the scars from that one. And I've tripped down them before and rolled an ankle. That was back in 2001. Umm, and they didn't give me any drugs. I'm grinning and bearing it.

  • What about the time you broke your ribs? Wasn't that work related?

  • Yes, also damaged my leg skiing and that was work related too. I think the company is trying to kill me off.

  • I hope Gabba is looking after you! I hear she's a wonderful nurse. I am actually up at the moment at 3.08am because I couldn't stop coughing & probably driving my husband nuts!! I hope you have been able to get a decent nights sleep.

  • Kieth Urban isn't really a no name country singer. He is huge over here in the states. But that is no good about your foot.

  • Country singing isn't very big here in NZ!
