I had to delete a post this week. It was a photo of the daughters that I made last year.

It had been posted on what is clearly a pedophile discussion forum. Only the dumbasses had direct linked to it so I could see they had posted it. I won't post a link to it, but it was a sick, sick site. It was all in a foreign language (I couldn't tell which one) so I was saved from having to read what they had written.

While I was considering how to block the photo from them but not from every where else, some of those sick bastards starting coming to the site here and posting comments about the giblets. Bloody hell. Those bastards were inside my computer which is inside my house.

The Photo

A landscape is a nice safe option that no fucked up individual can take advantage of. Other than the fact I took advantage of Seriocomic in the processing of it. It's Lake Michigan btw.

  • Thanks for the nod :), however I believe that landscapes are harder, and the safe option (for me at least) are macros... I like the spread you achieved in this shot.

  • that really sucks. i've seen some searches in our referrer logs that are pretty gross. never thought about pedophile forums and the fact that people might be taking the photos i post of my daughter and putting them up in places like that. ugh.

  • That stinks that there are people like that out there. I enjoy your pictures, so I can only imagine that it was a well done picture. I'm a lot nearer to you right now as I am in American Samoa on business as opposed to the normal home of Knoxville, TN USA. Great back ground... I am trying to capture some of the beauty of the island with a P&S but rather have my Canon AV-1, even if it is old school

  • I am so sorry to hear your story. How awful! I am not very techie, but I think you can modifiy the .htaccess file to prevent people directly linking to your image, but it does not stop the sickness out there. Sorry you had to experience it.

  • I was browsing google, and i beleive i saw the picture in question. The thing that scarred me the most was that it was featured alongside some more arguably more adult material, and it left me feeling rather worried. I clicked on this link to ensure that the picture was not of, shall we say, the kind of stuff that I every normal person deems as disgusting and wrong, and it led me to your sight. I felt relieved that your sight is a normal, and perfectely legal site. But the caption that was on google read "who is it that has a foot fetish?", the picture that i believe you are reffereing to was featured, and clearly left me feel very uneasey and if I should get to the bottom of things. I thought that posting what i have seen here maybe a good way of letting you know what had happened and also to make you aware of this truth.

  • Hi Chris. Yes, that much is true. However, the post was about someone that had apparently released Foot and Mouth disease on Waiheke Island last year. Ultimately it turned out to be a hoax. The post was about why someone would waste everyones time and money with such a hoax. I think there is a difference between me writing about a hoax with a photo that I had laying about of the kids and then for that same photo to to be used by sick bastards.

  • Hi dave. Thank you for your reply. I completely understand what you are saying but am still concerned by the caption "who is it that has a foot fetish?" underneath the photo on google. Can you shed any light as to that?

  • Chris, that was the title to the post. I wrote asking who is it that has the time to spend concocting a Foot and Mouth disease hoax. Geddit? Besides which, there is a difference between a foot fetish and a fetish for looking a little girls. One does not mean the other.

  • I'm so sorry to read about your ordeal. I'm worried as well because I have pictures of my kids on my site as well... How do you check if anyone direct linked the pictures?
