Tomorrow we leave to visit the in-laws down in Lower Hutt for Christmas. As Steve said today, Lower Hutt doesn't sound much like a "holiday resort", and he'd be right.
However, nothing beats spending 20+ hours in the BMW over the next week and a bit. I love a good road trip, especially when it can be done on beautiful New Zealand roads that have real corners and hills.
If, you've got nothing better to do while you wait for the end of the day to roll around you can keep an eye on our progress. Just periodically reload this page here. Click the marker to see our speed and altitude and what time we were at that spot.
Aside from the fact it has a bug that causes our latest location to not display you should be able to see where we are as long as we are within cell phone coverage. I have no idea what other bugs are present (it's mostly untested and still in Beta) and for all I know it might completely not work all day and there will be nothing to see. In that event, I'll refund all the money you have paid me.
We're heading south, so any markers you see north of Albany are from me testing earlier this year.
The Photo
One from the archives for no other reason than I needed a photo to post with the above information for your viewing pleasure.
Posted with a small glass of Tawny Port and accompanied by ZZ Top's Eliminator from 1983.
