How long does it take to catch Scurvy?

Gabba has decided she wants to go away to Australia for a week with her sister and mother some time later this year. That means I have to look after her 2 kids on my own. For a week!

That is a very bad thing. For start, I fear we may all catch scurvy before she gets home. And if the scurvy doesn't get us, then it's entirely possible one us will go mad with hunger, kill the rest of us and eat us.

If disease or patricide doesn't get me, then a landslide just may do me in before the week is out. We don't have a dishwasher in our kitchen. That is unless you don't count Gabba herself. There is a very real possibility that a huge avalanche of dishes falling off the kitchen bench (counter) might kill me.

I'm dreading it. Not only do I have to take a week off work, but it's a week of housework, entertaining kids, feeding kids and delivering kids to school, dancing, netball, swimming and Gerald only knows what else. I don't know how to plait hair. I don't know how to iron the pleats in their school uniform. Bloody hell, I don't even know if their uniforms have pleats! How will I know once they are washed? I have no idea what the hell to put in their school lunches every day.

Dealing with the damn kids is reason 3 of 5 that I got married. (Reason 2 is for her to send birthday and Christmas cards to my family at the right time of year and to remind me it's my mother's birthday, preferably when it's her birthday).

The Photo

It's some trees in Herbster, WI. I know it's a fairly boring photo, with no real subject or point of interest. But as I said the other night, I'm increasing my potatoshop foo. Tonight I was practicing with layer masks. I spent over an hour learning them. This is the result. You don't have to like it.

  • No sir... I cant says I like it... Nope, not one little bit... Not the photo, Im talking about the conundrum your in. Its a right pickle. If theres a 'Hire a hubby' then surely there's a 'Hire a hot looking stand in wannabe MILF that does all the stuff your wife can do but with out the backtalk' in the yellow pages?

  • BC, I suspect there would be some definite "friction" if they were all in the house together!

  • I am the one who has to remind you of my birthday, usually several days afterwards

  • Damn now you really have me reconsidering my top five reasons. Glad its the weekend, cause now I can forget about getting the children ready for school again and put some serious though into it. I can feel the need for a larger or two to for extra assistance.
