Could I launch my mother-in-law into space?

Tomorrow we're driving back to Auckland. We were to bring back the mother-in-law with us. Which would have been a real bugger as she weighs at least 60kg, plus her luggage, meaning the car would have had an extra 80kg on board.

That's 80kg the car has to accelerate, brake and corner. It would have dulled the performance of car and so the enjoyment of my drive home. And that's not even to mention the incessant talking. She just doesn't stop with the inane chatter.

But at the last moment, Gabba got her a flight to Auckland on Wednesday for only $68, which means it's just us and no 80kg weight penalty in the car home. Fucken excellent, I say.

Tonight we lit our firecrackers, celebrating Guy Fawkes night. As usual, the $60 of fireworks were pretty bloody average. Every year they get crappier and crappier.

Oddly, the flight to Auckland for the old duck cost only slightly more than the fireworks we exploded. I wonder if we'd strapped all those fireworks together whether we could have made a rocket to fire the mother-in-law to Auckland. Or into outer space, if we missed.

The Photo

I got to shoot another wedding yesterday. I'm pretty pleased with the results. They are by no means professional, but not so bad for me.

The above photo was one of the rejects, for obvious reasons, that I played around with some more. Apart from that particular photo, she was a beautiful bride, and it was a superb wedding and after match. There wasn't even a punch up!
