Tributes are flowing in today...

David Lange died today. Thats a sad thing, I think. Every news bulletin on the radio and TV start their story with "tributes are flowing in today for David Lange who died today aged 63...". What the hell does tributes flowing in mean? Can a tribute flow? And more importantly, where do they flow in to. Is there a big stack of tributes somewhere with a poor bugger standing there, trying to figure out what to do with them thinking, bloody hell I wish these things would stop flowing in.

I find it difficult to post here when things are tough at the office or perhaps with the rest of the world. Last week was a hard week at home and at the office. It seems flippant to post a picture and have my little conversation with the 20 odd people that read this regularly when bad things are happening elsewhere. On the other hand, perhaps I should just say bugger it, work is work and home is home, and I can do both if I like.

I asked Sarah if she was having a good life last night. She just looked at me, thought for a moment and then said "so far". I'm pleased with that, but it made me laugh too. I wonder what she is expecting will happen next.

Yes, the first paragraph has been published here before, some 19 months ago. But not many of you would have read it and it got rave reviews the first time it was published so I thought I would drag it out again. It's relevant.

Yep, the photo is of the men's toilets in Britomart. I don't normally carry a camera into the gents, but there was a cool blue glow and everything was clean and shiny and stainless steel. It's not as good as I had pictured, but someone flushed while I was trying to get the shot. I thought it would be a bad look photographing a urinal so I decamped as fast as possible, only having got a single shot.

  • Dave, I'm almost certain that if I asked Ben and Bryant the question you asked Sarah, I would receive a much less thoughtful reply. Something like "Hell no, you and dad don't buy me anything or take me anywhere" comes to mind. sigh
