Perhaps this is the nearest thing to a self portrait I've done so far. No, not the llama you dick. That's my reflection in her eye. At a 100% crop there is me. You'll have to believe me. This could be as close some of you ever get to seeing me. Of course the odd thing is there is a bunch of semi-regulars to this site that have never and will probably never meet me. And me never them.
Just last week I spoke on the phone with a reasonably famous blogger that I've only ever known through his blog/forum site. He doesn't know I exist of course because I'm the consumate lurker. But I've been reading his blog/forum since the day he started it 12 months ago.
It was a very odd experience as I felt I knew him and he had no idea I was part of his audience. He sounded different to what I had imagined him to be. I bet he looks different too. I had to reassess what I thought of him. Which is really a pain in the arse as it's so much easier to just make my mind up about someone inside the first 3 seconds and then just live with that view forever more. I find snap judgements are always the best.
You can be whoever you like on your web site. You can strut about and be all bullish and opinionated and the king of the world. But it all gets a little different when you have to deal with real live people. So you just be happy with my reflection in a Llama's eye, and know you will never have to meet me.
