Today was a day unsurpassed. One that will go down as a day to remember for a couple of years hence.

It started with a pretty shit start time of 6:30am to be ready to be picked up for a trip to Hamilton to collect a new (to us) E46. Actually, not to us at all, but to Rik. I was just there for company and manly bonding.

After milling about in Coombes Johnston for an hour, we got to drive home in the new car. I've decided that new car salesman are just as shit (pure shit I mean, think of the shittiest thing you can think of here) as used car salesman. And bloody hell they are shit. When I think back to my experience of buying the Alfa 33, and then witnessing the service today, I'm pleased I don't buy cars very often these days, and certainly not from a dealer. I wonder if you get better service when you spend a couple of hundred thousand dollars on a car? One day I'm going to find out for certain, and bugger me there had better be some serious arse licking then or I'll walk, I swear to God, I'll walk. Mental note to me, Coombes Johnston are shit. They are offically added to my shit list, which one day I will publish.

Once we got home there was a feeble attempt at an afternoon kip and then a small amount of coding on the new project, which unfortunately resulted in continued kernel panics related to making the webcam work. That is not a good thing.

But then it was back to the Fothergills for fine company, food, wine and scotch. Sirloin filet, baby potatos. greek salad, Coleraine (small chubby just for that), bread and chilli together (oh yeah, roll them around, roll them around), Baby Pecan Pies that were way to small to take away from their mothers, but tasty nonethless. All finished off with 10 year old Laphroaig.

Guest photographer for tonight: Gabba!

  • You should definitely post a shit list of businesses that give crap service. But it should not only be up on the web, it should also be printed on toilet paper as well. It would be payback every time you gotta go twosies.

  • Ah, I love Laphroaig. I may have to go buy a bottle to celebrate my new job, but I'm thinking Lagavulin. Nice shot (even though it's from a guest photographer).
