Go down you bastard

Over the last 3 or 4 days I've been really preoccupied watching the NZ dollar drop like a stone. I've had the chart displayed in a window on a monitor visible where ever I've been all this week.

Change the time scale on that chart to daily to see how huge the exchange rate change has been over the last 2 weeks.

We export fine HTML products to the USA so a lower exchange rate means more money for doing exactly the same work.

The problem with watching the chart, without any direct control over it all is it's a mostly pointless task. Every time it starts to head up there is all sorts of thoughts, like, is this it going back to 81 cents again? Is this a temporary rise? I will the chart to start heading down again with my fearsome mind control - "Go back down you bastard". So far, that is working a treat!

I might take my mind of the Foreign Exchange Markets for a few hours by improving my Facebook Profile. I think I'll go add the Pirate app (Arrrr!), maybe an aquarium, list all my favorite movies and perhaps dry hump a few of my friends with the poke thing.

Of course Facebook isn't pointless or a waste of time at all. Social networking will make my life better and more fulfilled. All the time I spent on my LinkedIn profile wasn't at all wasted.

If you're on Facebook, invite me to be your friend, then I can poke you too!

  • I watch with interest too - but for me I wish the dollar continued it's upwards trend...(I like cheaper dvds and hosting ) http://finance.google.com/finance?q=nzd is my graph of choice - I think i am becoming a google whore. As far as networking goes - I am looking for an anti-social website to join - and not meet other friends who don't want to talk...

  • Bloody brilliant, an anti-social network. That's exactly what I want too. I use the internet to avoid people too.
